Brotherly love replaces sibling rivalry

So as most of you know, Trevor is home on leave from Ft. Gordon where he's doing AIT currently.  He'll be home until he flies back on 1/2.  I've been watching the interaction between he and his little brother, Kolby, closely and have a few observations.

Prior to him leaving for basic training last summer, they had something of a love/hate relationship as most brothers do.   There is a ten year difference between them so some of that is fueled by this alone.  I have to hand it to Trevor though.  He has developed the capacity for MUCH more patience with his little brother than he had prior to leaving.   On the other side, when the two of them are conversing about things now, there is much better content coming from the little one as well.   Additionally, the little one is showing better patience for the asshattery of his brother too.   One of their interactions yesterday demonstrated this in a very comical way.

Trevor bought Epic Mickey 2 for the Xbox as a gift for Kolby.  This was awesome because it's a game Kolby has been asking for.  It's a typical Disney game in most regards, but it can be a 2 player co op game where Mickey, and his ostensibly retarded alter-ego, "Oswald" go on an adventure looking for shit.  They have to cooperate in most cases.   Oswald, however, is a complete assfuck of a character.   From the way he walks to his stupid ass voice, it does nothing less than bring out the worst in the older brother in this case.

So, while the two of them were playing this yesterday, of course, Trevor was playing the part of Oswald and Kolby was playing the part of Mickey.   They are on a mission to "find something".  Hell if i know WHAT, and i suppose it's irrelevant.   Well, Trevor inadvertently discovers that you can severely FUCK with the character you're supposed to be HELPING.  There is no practical purpose to this, yet, it's irresistible.   So Trevor goes into asshat mode as Oswald and just keeps pushing Kolby's character, Mickey off the goddamn cliff.  It's funny as hell because of how this fucking Oswald character walks, almost kicking himself in the face with his own feet.  He would run up to Kolby's Mickey character, goofy as fuck and shove him off the cliff.....REPEATEDLY.....laughing like a two year old who discovered farts in the bathtub each time.

I'm in the kitchen doing dishes while this is happening, and i'm WAITING for Kolby to lose his cool.   Which he normally WOULD do, by screaming something like "STOP IT OR OR I'M GOING TO GUT YOU LIKE THE FISH THAT YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!".   Yet what keeps happening is that T'ardo-boy keeps pushing Mickey off the cliff and Kolby just calmly keeps saying "please stop, don't do that, let's go find the <thing>", over and over again.   Of course, Trevor is on the couch laughing like a waterhead, until i finally intecede from the kitchen with "TREVOR!!!! DON'T BE A DICK!!!", because i knew Kolby could only have a fuse of a reasonable length.

But the fact that he had a fuse AT ALL this time is something completely new, and i have to say, i loved it.

I love my boys.
